ACTU Member Connect works with unions to provide benefits that add value to union membership.

The Member Connect team understands the work unions do, helps unions by providing an additional resource with a dedicated focus on adding value to membership. Services and products aren't the reason workers join unions, but union members should be rewarded for joining and maintaining their links to the union in more ways that just representation.

Member Connect has three main objectives:

To provide services to union members at preferential rates
To provide call centre services for unions
To provide tangible financial savings for unions

Union Shopper is a best-price buying service for union members.

A member decides in detail what he or she wants to buy then asks Union Shopper to find the best price. The range of products include household goods, travel & accommodation, insurance, motor market, etc. Union Shopper was established by Queensland unions more than 20 years ago. It is now a national service for members of subscribing unions. The CPSU subscribes.

2. Travel Deals

CPSU members have access to discount prices on holidays, accommodation and travel deals.

Shopper Travel is a telephone travel booking service offering great deals on:

international and domestic air fares and packages
hotel reservations and car hire bookings
domestic and international coach and rail tours
cruising
travel insurance
travellers cheques
theatre, sporting and special events bookings

Shopper Travel is a full service travel agency providing information and advice on frequent flyer programs and health and visa requirements. Shopper Travel can also help design special packages for groups and conferences. Shopper Travel is available Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm and Saturdays 10am to 2pm.

Toga Hospitality currently operates 42 hotels located throughout Australia and Europe.

South Australian Members use PSA/CPSU Holiday Homes

The holiday homes are available to financial members only.
Weekly rates as below, or $55 a night. Off season is between June and September (excluding school holidays).

3. Insurance

Several Branches of the CPSU provide members with access to insurance cover.

NSW Branch
Financial ordinary members of the PSA/CPSU are insured against accidents which result in permanent injury or death. The cost is included in the PSA/CPSU fees.

Queensland Branch
As part of QPSU membership fees, QPSU has negotiated with an insurer a group policy to provide members with Malpractice Liability and Legal Benefits Insurance cover.

Western Australian Branch
Competitive rates (underwrittten by Vero Insurance) with special discounted rates for Members only

South Australian Branch
Journey Accident Cover. It's for your protection and free to all financial members!

4. Legal Services

Each Branch of the CPSU has arrangements with solicitors in their State for members to access legal assistance.

5. Computer Deals

Personal computers

Union Shopper is a buying service -- you tell them what you want and they look for a best price.
When you go to Union Shopper hit the "Current Specials" and "More Offers" icons for the specials - that's where you will find their computer deals. CPSU is an affiliate of Union Shopper.
