Enterprise Bargaining 2010 Your CPSU Bargaining team met on Wednesday with the University for the first round of bargaining for this year. There were 11 clauses on the table and negotiations took place on 8 of the clauses, with several requiring slight changes and the others to be redrafted and returned for further negotiation. A more detailed bulletin will follow regarding the Managing Staff Workloads clause –the University is to respond with a redraft by 5 March with negotiations to continue at the meeting of 18 March. The CPSU raised the issue of inquiry processes generally in the context of the Classification Structure and Review clause particularly the concept of the Inquiry officer. We asked the University to review their earlier advice of the completion date for bargaining of the 31 March 2010, as this objective is clearly not going to be achieved. Your Campaign team is planning activities to mobilise members and raise awareness of current issues, including the need for a pay increase. (The last was in May 2009) To progress negotiations, time was spent on scheduling further dates including additional meetings, determining agendas and structuring discussions. The table below shows the status of Clauses brought to the table or scheduled to be brought to the table so far.
The next meeting is scheduled for 18 February 2010.
